Sometimes
When rough ways
Shake the battered frame
When racked brain aches
Screwed tight with others' anger
I dream of the sun
Hidden but there
Flowing and warming
Her beautiful body
Barely clad
As though she would share
Her soft pleasures
Head bowed, coyly modest
She shows but covers
Offering a glimpse
Though not quite ready
To slip into my space
And I feel that sweet longing
The child's want of the breast
The warm enfolding
The gently stroking caress
Kisses of comfort
Words that lift the spirit
Stirring and arousing
Creating new strength
Exciting and energising
Intensifying stretched nerves
Until all that is pent up
Bursts forth
Released and relieving
Emptied and spent
When rough ways
Shake the battered frame
When racked brain aches
Screwed tight with others' anger
I dream of the sun
Hidden but there
Flowing and warming
Her beautiful body
Barely clad
As though she would share
Her soft pleasures
Head bowed, coyly modest
She shows but covers
Offering a glimpse
Though not quite ready
To slip into my space
And I feel that sweet longing
The child's want of the breast
The warm enfolding
The gently stroking caress
Kisses of comfort
Words that lift the spirit
Stirring and arousing
Creating new strength
Exciting and energising
Intensifying stretched nerves
Until all that is pent up
Bursts forth
Released and relieving
Emptied and spent
Lost in a dream of delight
